Garrett's interested in sound started at a young age. For as long as he can remember, he has been fascinated by it. He was first formally introduced to sound art by Jeff Jacoby, a radio, sound design, and sound art legend. He embraced the art and performed a weekly two-hour sound art radio show on SFSU's online radio station, KSFS, alongside cohost, Amanda Font, and occasional guest Jeff Jacoby. He worked as the Production Director for one year at KSFS before working as the General Manager of the station the following year. He worked with the Production Director at KSAN (The Bone) and KFOG, recording bands (Death Cab for Cutie, Hozier, Paolo Nutini, and more) and curating content for radio spots. His work in sound art, radio theater, and radio storytelling continues, collaborating with many local radio folk. Check out some of his radio and sound art work here.
